Ho Chi Minh City, 10 September: PETRONAS, Malaysia’s national petroleum corporation, today donated medical equipment and appliances to the Hoa Binh Village, a centre providing medical care to unfortunate children with various diabilities.
The contribution is part of the on-going community relation programmes undertaken by PETRONAS to assist the less fortunate members of the society wherever the corporation operates. The donation was handed over to the centre by Puan Sri Noor Ainee Che Teh, wife of PETRONAS Chairman Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Azizan Zainul Abidin. Also present was Puan Sri To’ Puan Noraini Mohd Yusoff, wife of PETRONAS President and Chief Executive Tan Sri Dato’ Mohd Hassan Marican.
The contribution includes medical equipment and electrical appliances like television, washing machine, microwave oven as well as mattresses and bedspreads. These are expected to assist in the care of the centre’s residents suffering from various illnesses.
The Hoa Binh Village, which is situated within the Tu Du Maternity Hospital here, currently has about 60 children as its residents.
PETRONAS, which celebrated its 10th year of operation in Vietnam yesterday, has also donated medical and rehabilitation equipment to the Thanh Xuan Peace Village, which is a rehabilitation centre in Hanoi for children suffering various diseases associated with the exposure to the Agent Orange chemical herbicide used in the Vietnam War in the 1970s. The contribution was also handed over by Puan Sri Noor Ainee and Puan Sri Noraini.
